MV Kamilla, the first U-type vessel, launched in Turkey

An official launching ceremony for the first U-type vessel was held May 12 in Turkey. The final delivery of the vessel after outfitting and sea trials is scheduled for the second part of July.

The vessel is named after the daughter of the Marine Technics CEO, Abdul Mekhtiev. As of today, two such vessels are planned to be constructed for our company. After finishing all the trials, we will be ready to offer this project to our customers.

U-Type is a universal vessel of Volgo-Don Max class designed for the marine and river-sea transportation purposes and ideally suited for shipment of project, general and any bulk dry cargo.  U-type vessel was designed at the request of the MT-Group shipping company by our Turkish partner, Denge Technology, and built by Epic Denizcilik. The groundbreaking vessel far surpass the functionality of all the competitors — vessel’s deadweight is 940 tonnes, navigation area is summer zone (the better half of Earth) is unrestricted, the vessel can sail with a 72-meters long open-top cargo hold, vessel’s container carrying capacity of 500 TEU is two times bigger and fuel efficiency is 20% better than competitors. Bow superstructure and open-top cargo hold allow to ship over dimensional cargo without any height limitations.
