The “Fort Peter I” catamaran was launched at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard

On May 24, the “Fort Peter I” catamaran, the second high-speed passenger catamaran of the Project 04580 “Kotlin” series, was launched at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard.

Six new perspective high-speed aluminum catamarans are currently being built at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard for the Neva Travel company, a customer to provide a passenger transportation between Saint Petersburg and Kronstadt. The two newly built catamarans will start carrying passengers as early as this year.

The project is being executed within the framework of the development of the “Fort Island” tourist and recreational cluster and involves the construction of 10 catamarans by 2025. They will join the line between the center of Saint Petersburg and Kronstadt.

 Marine Technics company is a key provider of equipment for Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard. Following high quality and reliable equipment was supplied for two new Project 04580 “Kotlin” catamaran “Fort Kronschlot” and “Fort Peter the First”:

  • Diesel geared units;
  • Steering gears;
  • Anchor winches;
  • Marine pumps;
  • Propulsion units;
  • Steering apparatus;
  • Marine seating and more

 Mr. Kulikov, MT-Group Project Manager, told that in the future the company will supply the identical equipment package for the next four vessels.

Trials of the first two catamarans are scheduled for as early as June 2023.

Catamarans can operate both on rivers and in coastal marine areas. The seating capacity is up to 200 people: 150 at the saloon deck, 50 at the open part of the upper deck.
