Participation in conference “Impact of Shipping on Air in Europe”

On October 1st 2014 in the Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg international conference “Impact of Shipping on Air in Europe” was held.  The conference is supported by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the National Chamber of Shipping. 

Representatives of “Marine Technics” Group – head of fleet modernization department Konstantin Barkanov and manager of ecological projects Ruslan Yalynko took part in the event.

During the conference the following topics were discussed:

  • nitric oxide (NOx) emissions from vessels
  • introduction of restrictions on sulfur content in bunker fuel
  • prospectives of real bunkering of liquid gas shipping vessels in Europe 
  • modernization of old fleet
  • designing the new equipment ect.

Participants of the conference have represented their reports and offered their opinions about the entry into force of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, MARPOL 73/78.
