Seminar “Modern navigational equipment” gathered the largest audience

The annual seminar on modern marine navigational equipment has finished on the service station of “Marine Technics” Group of Companies.

It is the 6th seminar organized by MT for ship owners, shipbuilding yards, design bureaus, service companies, and for students from Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.

The first seminar was held in 2012 when the audience included 30 persons. This year, the event has attracted more than 100 specialists from more than 70 enterprises. One part of the guests are our constant participants, another part has visited this training for the first time.

Representatives from manufacturers KODEN (Japan), Atos/BenMarine (France), Tokyo Keiki (Japan), HighLander (China) spoke during this event. The seminar programme included presentations, demonstrations, study of modern radio and navigation equipment (radars, navigational and fish finding echo sounders, sonars, electromagnetic logs, gyrocompasses, voyage data recorders, etc.), experience exchange and enlargement of professional skills.

The programme was quite saturated: the first day was marked by presentation of KODEN equipment, the second day included presentations by HighLander, Tokyo Keiki,  Atos/BenMarine and “Marine Technics”. Igor Shvaiba, RMRS inspector, visited the second day and told about the Polar Code and other new requirements and standards, answered the most urgent questions of the seminar participants.

Representatives of KODEN electronics, marketing manager Nagasawa Masashi and engineer Tomoya Aoki, traditionally marked “Marine Technics” as a reliable partner and represented new products: radars KODEN MDC-5200, -5500, -7900(Р), -7000(Р), as well as the latest information about all range of navigational equipment.

Emmanuel Phelipeau, sales manager of BenMarine, attracted special attention to logs Amesys Blind Anthea as well as other modifications of logs, repeaters, flow meters, compasses produced by BenMarine. Mr. Phelipeau shared plans for development of electromagnetic and Doppler logs for the coming year.

Representatives of HighLander showed a wide range of marine equipment, but special attention was paid to the new generation of “black boxes” – voyage data recorders (HLD-VDR 600/SVDR600), with the remote connection service “Hi-cloud” and enlarged demand on the market.

Specialists of “Marine Technics” told about the equipment made under its own trademark, for example, radars, navigational echo sounders, video control systems, AIS receivers, etc.

To visualize the devices, all navigational equipment was displayed on the stands, thus, allowing the participants to estimate the product in operation and to address technical questions to the representatives of manufacturers and engineers of “Marine Technics”.

Especially for service engineers Marine Technics organized two extra days intended for learning and technical issues which had not been considered during the seminar.

The seminar included two-day technical training on installation and service of HighLander VDR 600/SVDR600. New comers and already experienced companies in VDR supply took part in this event. All the participants have received theoretical information as well as the opportunity to get acquainted with features of equipment service.
