The project of patrol boats construction is successfully finished
- 2010 год
Patrol boats of WaterCat 1500 project have been constructed for the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan by the Estonian shipyard Baltic Workboats AS. Marine Technics group participated as the main contractor.
Marine Technics has completely closed a cycle “from thought to a reality”: search of the client, technical project working out, search of the project satisfying the client and considering feature of operation, and also equipment of boats by all necessary and advanced equipment, control over building and performance of financial obligations by parties, reception of boats by a classification society, delivery of boats to the Customer, delivery of boats to a basing place.
In July, 2008 experts of the company have arrived to Baku for discussion of needs of customs. However, world financial crisis has interfered and the client had to take a break for acknowledgment of financial possibilities. The ship-building contract has been signed in October 2008, and the first tranche has arrived on shipyard a month later. The Customer has accepted the first boat in November 2009, that completely corresponded to the terms and delivery conditions. Two boats have been constructed by January and March 2010, and accepted by the Customer in May, after trial runs.
Marine Technics Experts, in they turn, have noted high quality of works of the Estonian shipyard: appearance of boats, faultless lines of the seams, design of an interior. Remarks were attentively listened and precisely carried out. Boats have shown high seaworthy qualities during trial runs. With a wave of 2,0 m and a strong wind, they confidently went with a speed of 40-42 knots (at design 37) that has completely satisfied representatives of the Customer.
Delivery of ready boats from Estonia to Azerbaijan became the final stage which also required careful study. Boats could be transported only by waterways of Russia, across Neva, lakes, channels, the Volga river and further to Caspian sea. Marine Technics has chartered a special vessel on which all three boats will be delivered to Baku in the end of August.
