New gas engine MAN MAN E3262 LE202 – 550 kW

From now new gas engine MAN E3262 LE202 is available for order. This engine when running on natural gas has an output of 550 kW. 

Engine MAN E3262 LE202 is designed for continuous work at full load (COP) and optimized for running on natural gas. Thus the engine may be used in many industries and even for production of heat/power: for industrial, commercial, municipal and renewable sector.  Reiner Rossner, Head of Engines & Components sales department explains principles of operation of the department: “With development of the model E3262 LE202 MAN concern continued its strategy to expand the new range of engines. Moreover we plan to produce a new modification of this engine to run on special types of gas. That’s what we usually answer to our clients questions about power and efficiency of engines in renewable sectors”.

Latest technologies

Engine MAN E3262 LE202 – gas, V-type, 12-cylinder four-stroke spark-ignition engine with operation volume 25,78 liters. The engine was represented for the first time at the exhibition Agritechnica 2012. It is equipped with a spark ignition system with BiTurbo and two-stage cooling of gas-air mixture. MAN engineers used the latest technologies to move on to a new power level – 550 kW. Among other features: operation cycle is optimized by using four-valve technology. The resulting increase in power also has a positive effect on the average operating pressure, which now accounts for more than 17 bar. Also by reducing friction in the engine, we were able to increase the value of efficiency. Gas engines fully comply with the Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control, which is reflected in the low level of emissions.

Extended sphere of application

MAN engines are equipped with V-shaped block of cylinders with threaded mounting for installation of special detonation sensor, thus extend limits of engine use. The ability to determine detonation level offers to a customer wide selection of fuel in future. Also the increased power of 550 kW provides much more variants of creation of equipment in new power class for manufacturers of cogeneration plants and mini thermal stations: the more mechanical and thermal power is, the more likely to meet increasing demands for effective decentralization of  energy supply.

Simplified control

Due to new installed sensor system which includes data recording system, the management of MAN E3262 LE202 has become much easier. Next, the most important performance parameters such as oil pressure or pressure change, are transmitted via the CAN. Such a system allows you to connect quickly the sensors and wiring without difficulties.

Except the four-cylinder E0834 with volume 4,6 liters, the product range is complemented by tried and tested six-cylinder in-line engines series Е0836 and Е2876 with power up to 220 kW.
