Successful sea trials of new MAN marine engines

At the end of the April new marine engines were tested on Sunseeker 86.

At the end of the April new marine engines were tested on Sunseeker 86. This yacht is the first to be fitted with the most powerful engines MAN V12-1900 in the model range.

The 86′ yacht was packed full of engineers and sales people keen to see how the new engines MAN V12-1900 would perform in real environment. Everybody got impressed by the results.

The vessel reached a commissioning speed of 30 knots, the same top speed normally achieved by a pair of MTU 1950hp engines. The acceleration was characteristically superb thanks to the MAN’s torque and the fuel consumption was typically low as in all MAN engines.
