“Moscow Shipbuilding and Repair Yard” is going to build a range of passenger vessels of new generation for Astrakhan oblast.

Three passenger vessels for passenger transportation in urban and suburban lines of Astrakhan Oblast will be built on “Moscow Shipbuilding and Repair Yard”. The construction of the vessels will be carried out upon the project of “Marine Technics” Group.
The solemn part was opened by the general director of “Moscow Shipbuilding and Repair Yard” V.V. Nemchin, he congratulated all employees with the construction of a new series of passenger ships and noted that MSRY having such a wide portfolio of orders fully copes with the fulfillment of its obligations and accurately meets the project schedule. He stressed his confidence in the professionalism of the Moscow shipbuilders, and said that he has no doubt that in 2014 these ships will go to their first navigation.
The next speaker was Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Oblast – Minister of Industry, Transport and Natural Resources of the Astrakhan Oblast, S.N. Krzhanovsky, he also congratulated the workers of MSRY with the keel laying of the lead ship of project “Astrakhanets”. It was difficult for Administration of Astrakhan Oblast to choose the construction site, because this region has a lot of shipbuilding yards, but they have chosen MSRY, because it has established itself among customers as a reliable partner. Time allocated for project development and construction of a series of passenger vessels is rather short, but we hope that the Yard will be able to meet the project schedule. Sergey Krzhanovsky has stressed that this is the first project to be implemented at MSRY, but he hopes for further cooperation in the field of construction and renovation of passenger ships for passenger transportations in urban and suburban lines of Astrakhan Oblast.
Then spoke the Director of Moscow Department of Russian River Register – S.V. Presnov. He noted that the distinguishing feature of Moscow Shipbuilding and Repair Yard is that it fully meets the highest standards in construction of vessels for various purposes, he also hopes that the Yard will build a new series of passenger ships with its inherent quality.
Concluding the solemn part of the ceremony , Director MSRY, V.V. Evstigneev congratulated shipbuilders with the construction of the new vessel and gave the command to start laying the keel of the head passenger ship of project 23020 “Astrakhanets”.
After the ceremony responsible officials have signed the Act of laying.
