Icebreaker “Novorossiysk” was launched during a solemn ceremony

October 29, 2015 serial diesel-electric  Icebreaker “Novorossiysk” was launched during a solemn ceremony  at the Vyborg shipyard.

“Novorossiysk” is one of three icebreakers capacity approx. 18 MW, which is planned to be commissioned, according to the subprogramme “Marine transport” of the Federal target program “Development of transport system in Russia (2010-2020)”.

Our company has delivered on the icebreaker “Novorossiysk”:

• bow thruster  1000 kW
• chains and anchors
• set of valves

The icebreaking capacity of “Novorossiysk” is 1.5 m. The vessel is intended for escort of large-tonnage cargo ships, for towing, ship salvage and cargo transportation.

Keel-laying of icebreaker “Novorossiysk” took place at Vyborg shipyard in December 2012.
