Engine preservation

 

1. Preservation
Our specialists perform engine preservation for winter period, which helps to avoid expensive reparation and engine problems during navigation season. At the beginning of the season, our specialists also perform de-conservation works.

Cooling system needs more attention than other parts. Independent from the type of construction, sea water is used as a coolant. During winter period water remaining in different parts of cooling system freezes and expands. As a result it may damage cylinder block group, collector, cooling system pump or heat exchanger. To avoid these problems, you may perform winter engine preservation.

All parts of the engine are constantly influenced by climate, which affects their functioning. The aim of this standard is to avoid corrosion before engine commissioning or decommissioning.

3. De-preservation
Outside preservation may be removed with cold cleaners and mineral spirits. If high-pressure mechanisms are used, mineral spirits are recommended. Intensive spraying of rubber-plastic elements with water with temperature higher that 80C may cause irreparable damage.

Preservative remains may be removed with fleece rag wetted with spirit.
