New gas engine MAN E3268 LE242 is available for order

In September 2018 a new version of MAN gas engine E3268 LE242 series operating on natural and special gas became available for the order.

The mechanical power of V8 engine is 320 kW with 1500 rpm (50Hz). Herewith this gas engine fills the power gap of the existing range from 275 to 370 kW and can be applied for gas-powered electrical generator of 300 kW.

The engine has following advantages:

  • High power due to maximal efficiency, 40% of possible electrical efficiency (natural gas).
  • Low operational costs due to reduced fuel consumption and lubricants with the extended service intervals.
  • Low emission level due to modern technologies of fuel combustion, available version –NOx up to 250 mg/nm³ (natural gas).
  • Compact design.

Mechanical efficiency of the engine is 41.7 % for natural gas (at 1500 rpm) and 40.5 % for biogas (at 1500 rpm).

Thermal efficiency is 47.5 % for natural gas (at 1500 rpm) and 49.5 % for biogas (at 1500 rpm).

Today MAN possesses a wide range of gas engines with 37 to 550 kWmech running on natural and special gas.
